Renee has
conquered many obstacles in her life and especially in her
profession. She is a female working in a primarily
male-dominated position for NYSEG. She was raised with all
brothers and a very encouraging mother and father. Her
parents pressured her to take on the same responsibilities
as her brothers. They also expected her to pull her own
weight on their family farm.
Renee has lived a life full of work and discipline since the days when she worked early hours on the farm, to the present in her electrician apprenticeship. She is expected to work in all weather conditions and is always "on-call" for emergencies. This may scare many people off, however getting to the position she currently holds has been a challenge in itself. When you work in the union, you have to wait your turn to get the better jobs, and Renee has earned her spot.
