Born August 17, 1972, Cynthia Wood was an only child. However, according to her, she was and will always be a "mama's girl."

Since her childhood, Cynthia Wood has looked up to her mother. She wanted to be, "just like my mom" who happens to be a nurse in the profession for 30 years. In order to do this, Cynthia became a certified nurse and pursued that path for eight years. Her mother knew that the profession was very demanding and hard, but Cynthia felt that if her mother could do it then she could too.

Eventually, the demands became too great. From the very beginning, Cynthia was one to easily become attached to her patients.

"When you look after someone all day, everyday, they become a part of you. You learn to love them just as you would anyone else. It may be hard to believe, but you even get a little protective of them. It's like looking after a child, only a full grown one."

While this proved to be very fulfilling for her, as time went along, the stress became too much for her. The main factor which drained Cynthia was the loss of a patient.

"Be it through them transferring to another hall or... or you know, dying... It's very hard." The loss was so great that Cynthia frequently came home crying.

After six months, working on a "day-night" rotation, Cynthia became physically sick. The emotional and physical strain of working such long hours, and losing patients struck her hard, causing her to take frequent sick days. Soon after, her position was terminated. It was then that she decided to do something that she liked. In trying to decide what job to pursue, she asked herself, "What do I like to do? Get in a car and drive." Thus, a Bus Driver was born.

Cynthia's mother proved to be a very positive influence on her life. No matter what she chose to do in her life, her mother was behind her 100%. The best advice that her mother has given her was be spread around to all people. "Follow the path you choose, and give it your all."
