Dr. Ted Johnson, CCC-A, Associate Professor of Audiology, is a native of the Trenton, NJ area, Exit 7A. Folks from Jersey will understand.
I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees locally at Mercer County College and The College of New Jersey, formerly Trenton State College. In May, 2000, I earned the clinical Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.) at the University of Florida. Along the way I also earned a commission as an officer in the US Army from the New Jersey Military Academy, leaving at the rank of Captain in 1984. I have served in a wide variety of clinical and management positions, including private practice ownership and vice president of the Hearing Laboratory at Pearle Vision.
Upon earning the doctorate in audiology I was invited to teach full time at The College of New Jersey, the beginning of a teaching career that has included positions at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and the University of West Georgia. When not in the classroom I can be found pursuing hobbies of photography and boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
I joined the faculty here at Elmira College in August, 2007. My wife Linda and I reside in Horseheads, NY.
