There are various reasons...

A good question to ask these days is why use solar energy? There are many things to consider when thinking about your switch. Let alone why switch? I mean fossil fuels have been working for years and are still working. The greatest thing about fossil fuels is that they are cheap, right? The thing is, over the past few years, haven’t the price of all the fossil fuels been on a steady incline? We all know the answer and we all know the reason: Fossil fuels are limited and we have been using them so much that they are close to running dry. Why use solar energy? Solar energy is free, renewable and entirely emission-free, unlike the fossil fuel high emission output. Therefore it is not only good for the personal consumer but for the environment as well.

But harnessing solar is so expensive, right? Not exactly. The average system (PV system) runs from about $40,000 to $100,000 for the entire system depending on your energy needs. In most places and for most people, that is the cost of a new home or even a nice car. Yet there are incentives that make the cost of solar diminish greatly. There a both Federal and State incentives for considering solar. Depending on where you live, you could get large rebates from both your state and country, lower the cost of solar to $15,000 to $70,000 a year depending on your energy needs. Not only that, within the first year of its operation, you can already see the savings. Over the lifetime of your system you could be saving tens of thousands if not hundreds or thousands that you are giving to the utilities companies.
