Laurie Anderson was born in 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She is the second to the oldest in a family of eight. Ms. Anderson graduated as an art history major from Barnard College. In 1970 she worked as a professor at City College in New York. Laurie Anderson is one of the most significant artist of the century. She is a poet, a writer, a visual artist, and a recording artist.

Ms. Anderson is a recording artist with Warner Brothers Records. She has produced many albums. Her first album is titled "Strange Angels." Laurie Anderson has just released two new discs: "Bright Red" and "The Ugly One With the Jewels." Her latest tour began in February.
