"I'M AN ARTIST FIRST, AND A WOMAN SECOND, AND I BELIEVE THAT IT'S TIME WOMEN PAINT WOMEN FOR THEIR STRENGTHS."

- Mavin Ambrose

SHE CREATES WITH DIFFERENT MEDIA TO UNFOLD WORKS OF ART AS DEEP AND STRONG AS HER PHILOSOPHIES

When Mavin paints with oil sticks she uses her finger instead of brushes. She just rubs a small amount of the oil on to her finger and then creates single strokes on the gessoed masonite that eventually become a work of art.

The painting that Mavin is pictured working on is an oil stick work that is of herself and her best friend Alicia. The photo is from Mavin's studio where she has her work displayed.

THE EVENTS IN MAVIN'S LIFE HAVE LED TO THE USE OF HER PAINTING SKILLS AS A FORM OF ART THERAPY.
