~Sigma Kappa~
My name is Meghan Louise MacLeod and this web page is all about me! Anything you view here or read will give you an idea of what it is like to be or live in my life. I live in Gloucester Massachusetts right on the ocean. I love it there and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. My friends are great there, full of energy and ready to take on the world! We enjoy boating, jetskiing, swimming, partying, dancing, 4 wheeling, fishing and all that jazz.
To start I wanted the most important subject of family. My family is very close, there was four of us, Archie Sr. (Dad), Cynthia (Mom), Archie Jr. (brother) and me. My mother suffered almost 5 miscarriages before and in between my brother and I. My brother was born September 8th, 1982 at 7lbs oz, also premature. I was born almost a month early on June 28th, 1985, the doctors didn't know if I would make it even though I was born a whopping 7lbs 4 oz. I was diagnosed with something they call Belle's policy years later, which explained why the whole left part of my mouth was paralized. The left side of my mouth droops when I smile because all the nerves in that side aren't there, hence paralysis. My Parents prayed for a miracle and did they get one. Two healthy children that loved them and needed them, and so began our happy family! I grew up with multiple pets, because my father and mother loved animals. We brought our dogs everywhere with us, Hockey rinks, softball fields, road trips etc. My family was always on the move when it came to sports. My father played softball and hockey mainly, so my brother and I became pretty good at them also. We started to skate and throw around the ball when we were around 3 years old. My parents were the most supportive parents around. They always were willing to drop their lives to help us live out ours. I have been playing hockey now for 17 years and softball for 15. With my father as my coach and my mother as my biggest fan, life seemed perfect. Nothing could have prepared me for what was going to happen in the years to come though.
In March of 2000 I lost my mother to Diabetes at the age of 46. She was a fighter her whole life. For 35 years, ever since she was 11, Juvenile Diabetes plagued her everyday life. It took her life and with that, I was changed forever. I learned to never take anything for granted and then another milestone in my life occurred. I had revolved my life around sports until I tore my right ACL completely and had full reconstructive and replacement surgery in June 2004. I recovered pretty fast and was back in action in 1 yr. My hockey career has started back up again but is ending for good this year (2006). I have to have all my cartilage repaired so I am officially done with sports forever. I never thought I would see the day, but its better now then later. Luckily I have a great family and friends, without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. I'm also in a group called, "Sigma Kappa", which the JVWH team created as a joke with some friends of ours. We have alot of fun doing crazy things. I also acquired the nickname Princess, which was given to me becasue they say I act like it. All in pink, hair dont, make-up on, nails painted, shopping....you name it, I'm there! I enjoy many other things such as; the ocean and the serenity of the water, sitting at the ponds near my house while writing in my journal, siberian tigers and listening to Rascal Flatts! I love country music, which I feel makes up a big part of who I am.
