Is this WORK or PLAY

I work for Corning Parks and Recreation and basically get to coach kids and set up camp activities for them to follow. Some call this work but to me its fun! I enjoy knowing that I'm changing the lives of these kids for the good. I love children so this job fits me perfectly and there is never a day I don’t enjoy being there. I hope one day to become a coach and a physical trainer and I feel that dealing with children and making sure I have their attention at all times is excellent training for that.

At times the job can get somewhat difficult. You have to take into account that there are some kids that are very shy, have some sort of illness or can be very verrrrrry hyper. After a long day I can say there are definitely more positives then negatives.

Love this!!

The best part of my week would have to be the handicap bingo we host at the senior center. I think I actually learn more from them then they do from me. You seem to think you have life all figured out, your likes and dislikes. Every time they open my eyes, life is meant to be lived to the fullest. Mistakes are here only to show to the rest of the world you’re a human and sometimes you can let your guard down, and let others lead the way.

Coaching

If I was to become a coach I would teach my kids how to deal with hurdles and that anything can be overcome. Having a tight knitted team means a lot to me, I firmly believe that this should come first. It should not be a team; it should be a family, a brotherhood. I would want my team to put their heart into it, win or lose. You truly know when your heart is into your team, when you lose a game and it’s like you lost a best friend. This is exactly how I want my team to coincide. To me coaching is not all about winning as much as it is about learning unity and respect for the game.
