One of the requirements of the www.women class was to participate in recreational sports throughout the semester. This was probably the most fun part about the class. This is my part to tell you about the recreational sports I participated in... On May 5th, my group and I went bowling at night with weekend festivities. We bowled a couple games and found out we were all pretty bad at bowling. We did seem to get better as the night went on though, so I guess we could consider it a successful bowling outing. Hiking in Watkins Glen was a lot of fun. Jen, her sister, and I went on May 15th, and though we were late meeting our professor, we still had a good time. That same week, Jen and I played a game of pickup basketball with a couple friends on the outdoor courts at SUNY Cortland. We were too caught up in the games to take pictures, but we definitely worked up a sweat. We played three games to 21. The first game Jen and I were on a team and only lost to the boys 21-17. The second two games, we were on opposite teams. My team won both, but again they were close games too. Jen, her sister, and I also went mini-golfing on May 10th, and although it doesn't necessarily count as a recreational activity, we like to think it does. Either way, we had fun, and I wanted to put a picture from mini-golfing of me and my boyfriend just because it's cute. Throughout the term, I played softball, both on the varsity team and for intramurals. My boyfriend and I also decided that this year we are going to run a 15K race in the summer that takes place each year in our hometown. So recently, we've been running a lot to train for the race.
