In addition to creating
websites about women in sports careers and our own personal webpages,
we were also given the assignment
of partaking in at least three recreational activities throughout
the course of this term. I have to say, I had more fun completing
this assignment than any I've ever been given.
The first activity I chose was bowling. A bunch of friends and
I decided to go bowling one Friday night a couple of weeks ago.
I love bowling, so this did not
seem like homework at all. We only played two games. I lost miserably during
the first one, but am pleased to announce that I was victorious during the
second.
The second activity I chose was hiking. Unfortunately it rained
the day my friends and I decided to go, but it was still fun.
We went to the Watkins
Glen State
Park in Watkins Glen, where there are plenty of beautiful gorges to walk
through and waterfalls to look at. My friends and I took our time walking
through the
trail and stopped to take lots of pictures of the amazing scenery. I had
never been there before, but now that I have seen how beautiful it is,
I would definitely
go back.

For my final part of the assignment, a few friends and I decided
to play a couple games of basketball. It was a nice day out,
so we decided to play
on the outdoor
courts. Basketball is my favorite sport, so this was probably the
activity I enjoyed the most of the three.
Hearing all the interesting things that my classmates did to
fulfill this assignment, I realize that there are so many
different recreational
activities
that are available
in my area that are both inexpensive and fun. If anything, this class
just made me wish I had more free time to be able to do more of these
activities.
It also
gained my interest in continuing to try recreational activities that
I have not experienced before, such as geocaching or white water rafting.
