Our group wanted to find someone to interview who has experienced the effects of Title IX, understands first hand what types of struggles and hardships athletes endure, and who is a great role model. When it came down to choosing whom to interview, it was clear that Mindy Moshier met all of these requirements. No, she is not a professional athlete nor coach professionally, but she represents much more than that.
Mindy is a physical education teacher who coaches varsity volleyball at the high school level. She embodies the many women in society who participate in athletics and who love what they do. Self-esteem is a big issue with females young and old, and Mindy Moshier recognizes the importance of creating self-esteem for young athletes. She coaches and teaches in a manner that focuses on positive aspects of the girls, and she is an all around great role model. She is a devoted coach, teacher, mother, and wife. Mindy Moshier has accomplished many things throughout her life that make her worthy of admiration and respect.
