Colette O'Brien
The O'Brien Family "There is no doubt that it is around the family and the home that all the greatest virtues, the most dominating virtues of human society, are created, strengthened and maintained" -Winston Churchill |
As I mentioned before, I live with my parents, two younger brothers, and our dog. My parent’s names’ are Rita and Gerald O’Brien. My mother is a Nurse Anesthetist and my father works for the state at NYSIF. They are both successful people and great role models. I am close with both my parents but I would have to say that I am much closer with my mom; I can tell her anything and she always is there to help me out and give me advice. My mom and I are a lot a like and she influences me greatly. I am following in my mom’s footsteps and I am becoming a Nurse just like her. I never thought I would want to be a Nurse until she told me about what she does on a daily basis and it really interested me. Although, I am closer with my mom, my dad and I are close as well. He is also there for me, pushing me to do better in sports and in school. Even though he is busy at home, he still makes time to come to my college lacrosse games even if the games were far away. Both my parents are very supportive of me and are always there for me.
I have two younger brothers; Gerald is 17 years old and Daniel is 13 years old. They drive me nuts but I love them. We do not always get along but when we do it’s great. Gerald and I are closer in age and we have many of the same friends because we went to a small high school. Gerald looks older than because he is so tall. He is one of the those guys that is good at every sport he tries; he use to play all kinds of sports but now he’s narrowed it down to football, lacrosse, and travel lacrosse. I enjoy going and watching his games whenever I get a chance. Daniel and I on the other hand are very close because he’s my baby brother and I would do anything for him. He is a very outgoing kid and always has something to talk about. He also is very good at sports and he now plays, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. I never thought I would say this but I miss them a lot when I’m at school. Oh and I almost forgot, my dog’s name is Penny and she is only a year old and is the cutest!
