Coach Kay Yow in her 37 years of coaching has become one of the most accomplished coaches making an impact on not only her teams but also fans all over the country as well.

1965-1970: Begins coaching at Allen Jay High School (4 years), Coaches in hometown, Gibsonville High School for 1 year. In this five-year span, she recorded a record of 92-27

1971-1975: Coaches at Elon University where she coached her younger sister. Her record while coaching at Elon for four years was 57-19

1975: Begins her coaching career at North Carolina State University

1977-1978: Wins ACC regular season title in first year as head coach. This accomplishment recognized women's basketball as a sport.

1979-1980: Wins programs first ACC tournament title

1981-198: In the first NCAA tournament, NC State Women's Basketball team makes their first appearance in the sweet 16

1984-1985: 15 game winning streak, making this winning streak the longest in team history. NC State both the regular season and the ACC tournament, they advanced to the sweet 16

1987-1988: Yow coaches the U.S. Olympic basketball team to a gold medal in Seoul, Korea

1994-1995: The wolf pack return to the NCAA tournament, making it to the sweet 16 for the first time since 1991

1997-1998: NC State beats the #1 team in the sweet 16 paving the way for their first and only appearance in the final four

1999-2000: Inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame

2001-2002: Naismith Hall of Fame welcomes Yow

2005-2006: Yow becomes the first ACC women's coach and fifth coach in NCAA history to coach 900 games at the same school. Yow became the fourth division 1 women's head coach to surpass 1,000 career games

2006-2007: Yow misses 16 games due to breast cancer. She becomes the sixth division 1 women's coach to win 700 games. The court is renamed the Kay Yow Court.

2007-2008: Yow establishes the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Foundation in partnership with her good friend The V Foundation

2008-2009: Yow Coaches her 1,000 career game at North Carolina State University
