Sports.

Athletics has always been a large part of my life. I grew up with a sister who figure skated and a brother who played hockey and lacrosse. I have done many sports over the years. I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years, a cheerleader, I played OVA volleyball, flag football, track and field but my real love was always lacrosse.

I began playing lacrosse at the age of 13 after years of going to my brother’s games. I picked it up right away and knew that it was the sport I wanted to stick with. I played in Orillia, which is about 40 minutes away because my town or high school never offered it (however it’s a cool feeling being the only girl in your town who plays lacrosse). After playing with Orillia for 4 or 5 years I tried out for Team Ontario and was given the chance to travel around the US and compete against other travel teams. After a season with Team Ontario I took a coaching opportunity for the Orillia Under 15 team and had an awesome season with the girls moving them up in the standings. I am now beginning my first season with the Orillia Senior team and I look forward to it. I knew that lacrosse was my escape and it brought me here, to Elmira College. I just finished my first season playing in the NCAA’s, and with the team that I have, it was a great season. I have learned so much this past year and with my new teammates beside me I will continue to develop my skills.
