"So
You Think You Can Dance?"
Dance - is to move rhythmically to music, whether it is to move the feet and body rhythmically, usually in time to music.
I was 12 when I got involved in the world of competitive dancing. It was then I feel in love with being in the spotlight. Over the years of competing, my team and I won many regional titles, as well as national titles. As a soloist, I also placed in the top 10 in many competitions. It was such a rush, the lights, the audience, the music, it was all so much fun. I loved learning new steps and combinations, as well as new leaps and turns. I love going to the competitions with my teammates. We had so much fun together. I love those girls and am still close with them today. It is because of them that I have so many great memories and friends.
My favorite memory of dance was during my senior year in high school. Every year my team and I go to nationals, somewhere in the country. In July of 2005 we went to Cape May, New Jersey for Dance Xplosion Nationals. We had a great time, and did extremely well. Personally I finished 10th overall with my solo, my duet partner and I we finished 3rd overall, 3 dances finished first in each of their categories and finally my favorite dance won the entire competition! But this was not the best part. You see where I danced I also did gymnastics. These people were more than friends they were my family. When the entire competition was over, my whole team was crying not because we won, but because I was leaving. It was the most touching moment of my life. I had never realized how many people truly loved me and were going to miss me.
