Born: April 29, 1967
Sport: Ice Hockey
Position: Goalie
Nickname: Cujo

Curtis Joseph is considered one of the best goaltenders in the game. He has a combination style of standup and butterfly. He is a clutch performer and both a strong skater and stick handler.

His Career started at Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Saskatchewan and he even won the Centennial Cup. Then he played for the University of Wisconsin in the NCAA.

He was not drafted into the NHL. Instead he signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues in 1989. In 1994 he played in the NHL All-Star game. He played for the Blues until 1995.

He was then traded to the Edmonton Oilers. While there he won the Zane Feldman Trophy twice and the Most Popular Player Award as well. He also won the Molson Cup in 1996.

In 1998 he left the Oilers to play for the Toronto Maple Leaves. In 1999 he was named to play in the NHL All-Star game but could not play due to an injury. He did play in the NHL All-Star game in 2000. Also in 2000 he was named player of the week on February 28. Also, he won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2000.

In 2002 he signed with the Detroit Red Wings. Also, in 2002 he was a member of the gold medal team for the Olympics for Canada. He was back up goalie for Detroit until 2003 when the other goalie was out because of injuries. He then took that top spot and succeeded.

In 2005 he moved to play for the Phoenix Coyotes. He is signed for one year.

Cujo has had a great career as seen above. I just love to watch him play with intensity and heart. He has kept me addicted to ice hockey and goaltending.
