I come from a small town in Maryland in a great big house with a pool and a Jacuzzi. I live with my Mom, Dad and four cats. I love my family and I could not ask for a better one, even though I say that I would like to trade every now and then. But my family has been one, if not the greatest, of the best aspects of my life. I guess I just lucked out.
My Dad, Robert Leyden, is one of the most hardworking person I know. If he is not at work or helping out a friend, he is finding a new project around the house to work on. There is hardly an idle moment for my father, except maybe when he is reading the morning paper. He has had a big impact on my life and I credit him a lot for what type of person I am today. He was always there to push me to do better in every aspect, even though I thought it was perfect. He has helped me greatly to break many limits that he and I thought would not be possible for me. My mom, Sharon Leyden, is who i really love in the household. Although, I do love my Dad, I think I’ll always be a “Mommy’s Boy.” My mom has helped me with everything throughout my life and if it wasn’t for her, I don’t think I would have made it this far. She always has been there when it has been hardest for me and on occasion, has fought for me. I could not ask for a better mom or dad and I feel like the luckiest kid in the world.
The last few members of my family are the cats. We have always had cats. Even though my mother and I are allergic, it didn’t stop us from having four. I consider my pets a part of my family because they are just as loving as a person can be once you get to know them. Although, I can’t even say that I have been pampered as much as the cats.
But I love my family and possibly couldn’t ask for another one. I hope I am making them proud.
