Girls-N-Sports

Deb’s most recent experience with chaperoning was when she went to Orlando, Florida for the Girls-N-Sports camp. This day-long event is held annually at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex and is co-sponsored by the Girl Scouts of America and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The main goal of this camp is to honor girls in sports and encourage them to be the best they can be. Throughout the day, Girl Scouts who have reached a rank between daisies and seniors participate in various sports activities, such as baseball and basketball. They also get to experience other fun activities, like salsa dancing.

Deb said this is one of the most fun camps she has been to, since they had the opportunity to go to the Disney theme park in addition to attending the camp.
