~*~MY LIFE AS IS~*~

Hi my name is Ajene Heastie and I am from Nassau Bahamas. I am a freshman student at Elmira College who’s simply trying to survive and excel at the same time. I am a very happy person, easy to get along with and difficult to upset. I love laughing and having fun with my friends and family; for they are my rose bushes that breathe happiness into my life.
I love getting dressed up and having my hair done; and most of all, doing the same thing to other people. That is primarily why I want to be a cosmetic surgeon. I want to make others happy by helping them enhance their inner beauty outward.
I really really really enjoy shopping, especially for shoes, bags and jewelry; but more than ever when they are on sale. I’m simply to be called a “shopaholic” like my mother!

~*~MUSICAL APPRECIATION~*~

I enjoy singing and listening to others when they sing. I took private voice lessons for two semesters this year and it has deeply broadened my appreciation for music of many languages and from different cultures. Dancing is also a hobby that I enjoy. Although I don’t attend dance classes any more, I somehow still feel the urge to dance whenever I hear music being played. I played the piano when I was younger for about seven years, but I somehow allowed that interest to fade away. Nonetheless, I plan to start playing it again in the near future. Whether it be rhythm and blues, jazz, hip hop rap, culture, reggae, or country music; I love it!

~*~SPIRITUALITY~*~

I attend Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship where the pastor and founder is Dr. Myles Munroe. He is truly an inspiration to my life at large as it was him that urged me to dare to be the absolute best in every situation through faith in God. However, when I am at school in Elmira, I attend Monumental Baptist church with my friend Brittany. I love to read my Bible because it makes me feel closer to God and it gives me a sense of spiritual fullness. Many people think Christianity is boring, but my friend Kellen always says that that’s only because they don’t know what real fun is all about. Christ is the center of my life and through him, for him and by him am I the person that I am today.
