Karolyn Kirby

Even as a freshman in high school, Karolyn was the star of her Varsity volleyball team. She served as captain of the team for two years, led the team to a state championship title, and was named High School Player of the Year.

Karolyn then was drafted to play for Utah State for three years, and transferred to the University of Kentucky for her senior year of college. She was named an All-American for three of the four years she attended school, as well as the Most Valuable Player for all four years.

Overall, Karolyn has 67 wins nationally and internationally in beach volleyball to her name.

In 1992, she led her team to win the gold Olympic medal in beach volleyball. Between the years 1992 and 1994, she held the title of Best Player in the World, and was also named the Best Hitter and Best Offensive Player in the year 1992.

Karolyn now engages in recreational play of beach volleyball and is the coach at the University of New Hampshire for women's volleyball.
