Sue Day Stahl
Female Lacrosse Player

Year Inducted: 1999

She started her career playing for Upper Darby High School on the early 1960’s. Sue won Player of the Year in 1962. She continued playing at Ursinus College in 1963-66 and was Athlete of the Year in 1966.

She played for Philly clubs in 1962-67.  Also, she was a member of the U.S. team in 1965-67.

Her coaching career started at Ursinus College and Temple University as the assistant coach. She then coached the Philly team to the 1988-90 National Championships.

She was the U.S. team coach since 1988 and has won three World Cup titles. In 1997 she was named Outstanding World Cup Coach by IFWLA.

She started coaching at Old Dominion in 1991.  In 1999 she was recognized in the All-Century Women’s Lacrosse team.  Also, on 1995, 2002, 2003 she was named the CAA Coach of the Year.

She has also served on many committees and clinics throughout the country.
