Valerie Walchak
Female Lacrosse Player

Year Inducted: 1999

Valerie Started playing Lacrosse at West Chester University playing line defense. The team was even undefeated in1964. She made the Philly College and the PWLA teams from 1964-69.

She coached for twenty-one years. Valerie won two Central League titles with her Harvard High team which she had coached for fourteen years and three USWLA championships as the Philly 1 coach.

She also was an umpire for thirteen years.

She is responsible for starting the Schoolgirl Association within the USWLA. She also has served on countless committees and boards with the USWLA. Valerie also created and chaired the USWLA Insurance committee, USWLA Schoolgirl Division, USWLA Schoolgirl All-American Award Committee, the USWLA School Girl Tournament, the PLA Women’s Division Hall of Fame Committee, and the final USAIEngIsnd/PWLA Test Matches.

She also has run clinics on the local and national level. The USWLA has honored her by naming the Schoolgirl Division Trophy after her.
